Moonlight Mile manga creator Yasuo Ohtagaki announced on his Twitter account that he is streaming a live sketching session on the Ustream service on Thursday at 3:00 p.m. Japan Time (Thursday at 2:00 a.m. EDT). Ohtagaki decided to do this live drawing session after talking about his manga storyboards on Twitter and receiving a flood of responses from people who wanted to see his sketches for the manga. He will be drawing mostly characters in this session, as requested by people.

The Japanese website Hollywood Channel has posted a trailer for Ai no Kotodama ~Sekai no Hate Made~ (Words of Devotion: To the End of the World), the second live-action film inspired by Keiko Konno’s Ai no Kotodama boys-love manga, on Wednesday. Satoshi Kaneda returns to direct the second film with Yasuka Saitou (live-action The Prince of Tennis) reprising his role of Tachibana. The August issue of Kadokawa Shoten’s Monthly Gundam Ace magazine is announcing on Saturday that a new manga version of the Mobile Fighter G Gundam television anime series will launch in the next issue in July. G-Gundam’s original director Yasuhiro Imagawa is scripting the tentatively titled Kidō Butōden G-Gundam the Comic (Mobile Fighter G Gundam the Comic), while Kazuhiko Shimamoto (Blazing Transfer Student, The Skull Man) and his Honō Production studio are drawing the actual manga.

Upper Deck Settles Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Counterfeiting Case

The card company Upper Deck has agreed on Tuesday to settle a lawsuit filed by Konami Digital Entertainment (KDE) for counterfeit Yu-Gi-Oh! cards. The case was set to go to trial on Tuesday after the United States District Court for the Central District of California found Upper Deck liable for the counterfeiting in December. The two parties will submit the terms of settlement, which include a permanent injunction and an undisclosed payment from Upper Deck to KDE, by Friday.

Male Arrested in Japan for Uploading via Perfect Dark

Kyodo News and other news sources report that Kyoto’s High-Tech Crime Task Force has arrested a male suspect on Wednesday for allegedly uploading anime online, without the copyright holders’ permission, using the Perfect Dark file-sharing software. Other people have been arrested for uploading anime online, but not for using Perfect Dark, a “next-generation” program which was intended to maintain its users’ anonymity better than its predecessors. (The Perfect Dark file-sharing program has no relation to the Nintendo 64/Xbox Live Arcade game of the same name.)
